Right, I bought this dvd a few days ago. And I must say I am impressed. I have tried other workout dvds before and usually they don't have much of an impact and the celebrity claiming to have lost weight by the workout is just plain lying. But with this dvd, I see how Natalie Cassidy was able to lose weight. The first section which is the warm up, really does warm you and prepare you for the next section which is the sweat section. And God, did I sweat! I sweated even more in the punching section. Although, the last section which was crunch, doesnt yet fit well with me. Not really sure what it's supposed to do but I do it anyway.

I say that anything that makes you work up such a sweat must be good. My muscles ached and I was knackered but I felt proud that I'd got through it. First time round, I gave up after the second section. But then the next day I got through the whole thing and it wasn't that bad. The steps are quite confusing at times, but you can get them in the end.

I actually enjoyed this dvd, and I think its more believable than others...I mean look at her now.

I love a good ab workout. You can never have too many. Because you need to do abs so often, variety is key for not getting bored. This is a good workout to add to your collection. Tracey York is a good instructor and she does another great job here. She begins by alternating two minutes of toning with five minutes of cardio (always keeping your heart rate up). There is crunches, pilates, core-conditioning and "dynamic movement" (they're all short but tough). Because your heart rate is up a lot and you are doing toning, that's the best way to burn the fat and tone together which is more effective in the long run. This workout is very well choreographed which makes it fun. Again, you need dumbells here too. The one problem I have with this, which you'll need to think about too, is that you may already have this because it's a re-release of Shape Your Abs from last year. The cover has changed in a ploy to sell more copies. I like this cover best though so I'm going to sell my original copy. Just don't buy this dvd if you already have last years copy.

This is another good workout from the people at Shape. It's fun and motivating and actually enjoyable (where some aren't). It starts with a 5 minute warm-up, 55 minutes doing floor work and then a 5 minute cool down (there is also a bonus standing floor workout - about 20 minutes). The primary workout is dance-based aerobics - ten minutes each of jazz, dance party, Latin, funky and tribal. Then there is a pilates/yoga relaxing toning workout. Both instructors are the same as the other workout dvd's and they do great cueing again. With this dvd you can also do the workouts in any order - I find this helps prevent the bordom that comes from repetitive workouts of the same dvd.

Finally, a cardio workout that actual keeps my heart pumping and makes me break a sweat. This is one of the first cardio workouts that I come into contact with that keeps me in my (target heart rate) and I felt results the first time. I would not recommend this dvd to someone who has never worked out before or to someone who is extremely out of shape, because it is so highly intense, it may make an individual who has never worked out quit. This dvd is for people who work out on a regular basis and people who are looking for a real challenge. You have to honestly work your way up to this dvd.

I bought this DVD about a month ago, with the thought that I should be able to find 8 minutes in each day to work on my core strength. I now do the Abs workout every morning first thing. Do I now have a six-pack? Nope - like everyone else I have a little fat around the middle. But what I do have is a noticeably stronger core - not only the abs, but all the supporting muscles on the side and back. The workout offers three levels, and I was able to get to the advanced level fairly quickly. After only a month, I can now feel rock solid muscles around my entire mid-section. And this has translated into better posture, a stronger back, a flatter stomach, and a reduced chance of injury during my other activities. Again - I am only doing the abs section, but I can imagine doing this every morning for the rest of my life. Highly recommended!

This two-video pack includes Kick Butt and Kick Butt 2. Each features a celebrity, a fitness expert, and a kickboxing champion. The 1997 Kick Butt shows Kristoff St. John, star of the soap opera The Young and the Restless, holding his own with trainer Jackie Vankatwyk and three-time European kickboxing champion Badrino Kocktane. The scene is a boxing ring in a real boxing club--very austere and macho. You should already know kickboxing techniques to do this workout safely, because it offers very little instruction--participants are supposed to watch and follow Kocktane, who gives a few barely audible instructions, aided by some clear voiceovers from Vankatwyk. The moves are repeated drills without patterns. The camerawork is quite busy, with frequently changing angles. After a 25-minute kickboxing workout, you spend about five minutes with weights, followed by five minutes of abs workout, then a 10-minute stretch.

This workout is advanced. I put it in the same league as Cathe & P90X. I would purchase it for the weights portion alone. It's a five day rotation & tough. It's not often I have to take "breaks" working out, but this gets me winded every time. I don't have a treadmill so can not comment on the treadmill workout. The other aerobic section on each DVD is high impact plyometrics. I LOVE that you can choose no music in the background. Having to listen to banal music over & over kills me. This way, I put on whatever music I like & go.

This is a great DVD! It has four different dance segments that are so much fun. Don't get frustrated the first times. The first time I tried the 35 minute cardio I was frustrated because they move between the dance moves quickly but after about the 3rd time I new the dance moves well and I got a better workout because they did not pause between steps. I also love the 12 minute pilates and ballet segments. They are so good for toning. I love the SHAPE videos so much that I now have 4 different DVDs. This has been the only workout that i have done almost everyday for 2 months now.
